Author's note: Due to technical difficulties, this entry was delayed.

Well, half a road trip.

About ten days ago, we found out that Amanda needs to be in AZ on Tuesday and I wanted to go too. Having become accustomed to flying when I want to get somewhere farther than four hours away, I decide we should fly. I check airfares. OUCH! $210 each way for each of us. OK, I can drive, pay for gas and pay myself a salary for that amount of moola. So, we decide we are going to drive.

I talk with my boss about taking a week off. Guess what! He has a car in California and a closet full of "stuff" that he needs to get to AZ. He was going to take it in March. Would I like to take the car down and fly back? Uh, let's see. Drive the boss' car; stay at the boss' house; not have to take three days of vacation and fly on his miles that are going to expire. Yep!! Win, Win for both parties.

I went and picked up the car today and packed an entire closet into the back of a Ford Freestyle. Hubby and Boss both think I should have taped it and sent it to Ford. They have never seen so much stuff put in a car and still have room for people to travel safely. (Thanks for handing down that talent, Dad.)

Meme Tagged Again...and Loving It

Well, the fabulous SIL has Facebook tagged me to play the Random Share Meme. Of course, she thought enough of me to ask me to participate, which "requires" I do. I love it. (See number 15)

So here goes...

1. I love to daydream. Anywhere, anytime. Some call it a lack of focus, but that’s because I am not usually focusing where they think I should be.
2. I am sometimes considered a bit snobby. That’s probably because I am daydreaming or focusing on something else. Or sitting in the corner, observing.
3. I am afraid of falling. Not heights, but falling. I will climb up really high places, like my horse, the roof of my barn, the edge of a cliff. But don’t ask me to get down, without much deep breathing and mental games.
4. I like to learn new things, just wish I grasped them quicker.
5. It takes a lot of crap for you to get on my $hit list, but once you are there, kiss our relationship goodbye.
6. I am grateful that I have surrounded myself with others who are not so intolerant.
7. I try to live with this in mind: “NEVER throw the first punch; but ALWAYS throw the last one.
8. I hate discussing money.
9. I am learning to become “comfortable with being uncomfortable.”
10. I have the ability to listen to several conversations in a room or down the hall, or to tune them all out. Helps when the radio, television, internet, cd player and the dvd are all playing while I am typing or reading.
11. There are times, when I think something is so simple, I don’t get why no one else gets it. Conversely, there are some things that others find so simple that a two-year-old gets it and I can’t fathom how it works.
12. I do not stop at either of the stop signs near my house. (If you have ever seen them, you would not stop either.)
13. I LOVE football. College, professional, high school, Pop Warner. Doesn’t matter. But I can’t get into Fantasy football, because they don’t like defense. I love defense. KILL the quarterback. That’s my motto.
14. I love to travel. I could get in a motorhome tomorrow and never look back. (That is of course if there was someway to pay for food and fuel for said motorhome).
15. I procrastinate too much. Sometimes, it even pays off.
16. I cannot sing in tune with anyone. Keeping a beat is right behind that. Not even myself. The dogs howl whenever I start singing along with the cd player or radio.

Halloween Show

Well, we survived the show. And exceeded our goals (maybe I should have set them a bit higher). Na, that is what next show season is for.

It was a blast. Luke and Heather did well in the Level 2 Jumpers (three foot, three inch fences). They were first one day and had fun the others. Not bad for the pasture pony who only gets out once or twice a week. Luke and I did well too. He was the star, babysitting me like a good pony. I wasn't too bad either. I remembered to jump all the fences in the correct order, (unlike the show in July). I didn't stop at any fences. (Note: Luke never stops, only I do). AND I nearly cantered an entire course without breaking to the trot. Very pleased with our progress.

Here are some photos of the week. Our barnmate, Linda, also took some photos of Luke and me, but I don't have those yet, so I will post when I receive them. We didn't participate in the costume contest, because our last class didn't finish until about 30 minutes before hand. I also couldn't find that last piece.

The barns ribbons. One of the blues is Luke's.

Our headless monster (above) and our barn setup (below).

Heather and Lumley, the motorcycle speeding patrol. They won again this year.

Boating Saturday

Just a few photos of our outing on a friend's boat on Saturday. We had a wonderful time. We cruised from Sacramento's Miller Park down to Cliff's Marina near Freeport and back home. A few minor glitches, but a beautiful day none the less.

Heather piloting the vessel.

Sara intently watching Heather.

And here I am piloting the vessel. I didn't crash or ground the vessel.
