Could life be so simple

as to be the sum of all your pluses and minuses?

You gain weight if your intake is greater than your output. And all Intake and Output count!

If your credits are greater than your debits, then you are wealthy.

Could it be this simple? and if so, why do I make it so hard? (That brings on another conundrum for me: Why do I find simple things (as defined by the general universe) really hard to grasp; but the hard things (again as defined by the general conscensios of the universe) to be so simple?)

Here is an example: I accept that two times zero is zero. Mainly, because I have to. But how can that be, if I start out with two objects in my hand and then multipy them, I still have those two objects in my hand. They don't get up and walk away. Or do they?
